Week 1: Capstone II

A new semester has started and we are getting back to shoot some more and move into post-production. Here is an overview of what has been done prior to this new semester.

Logline: An experimental piece in four parts focusing on the idea of the females descent into a monster through puberty and sexual awakening that challenges the cultural mythology of womanhood, gender, and femininity in relation to monstrosity.

Recap of the past semester

• I start developing the idea of the A Study on the Monstrous Feminine, my senior thesis film, after reading The Monstrous Feminine by Barbra Creed in early 2024.

• We started heavy pre-production from April 2024-September 2024.

• Principal photography started in September

  • We shot the fourth part of the film on the Virtual Production wall in MAGIC Spell Studio at RIT on September 21st and 22nd.

  • We shot the first part of the film in which I the director acted in again at MAGIC Spell Studios at RIT on October 6th.

  • We shot a part of the second part of the film in a bathroom in Studio A at RIT on October 18th.

  • We shot a part of the third part of the film a scene called the castration scene at MAGIC Spell Studios at RIT on October 20th.

  • We shot the second half of part 2 on an sidewalk on RIT’s campus on November 14th.

• December 13th we showed a in-progress screening at Wegman’s Theater at RIT and it went really well.

• Over our winter break Dec-Jan we did pre-production for reshoots and pickups.
